If you’ve taken the suspension off of your bike, you might have to swap out the spacers depending on their condition and the suspension setup that you’re using. The shocks are designed to pivot on the spherical bearings, so if your suspension isn’t pivoting correctly, you might need new spacers.

Below is a picture showing an example of spacers that can be reused versus what needs to be replaced:
